I went to my first Twitter party last night, and had no idea how to follow the party. I had one tab opened with the Twitter search on the hash tag term to watch all the comments and the other tab opened to make comments. It was so confusing. At the end of the party someone said, “Thanks for telling us about Tweetgrid. It made the party more fun!” I guess that’s what I get for being late to the party.

Anyway, if you’d like to follow the Twitter party and be able to reply, direct message, retweet, and even email the tweets from the same page, then go to Tweetgrid.com

How to Use Tweet Grid

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. At the top of the Tweetgrid homepage, click on the PARTY button.

2. Fill in the hashtag you are following. Ex: #2010tdf (Optional: You can enter the host name and your own name if you don’t want to miss the @replies you get.)

3. Click “Join the Party.”

That’s it! You are at the party!

Now, here are some advanced techniques if you want to be the life of the party:

How to Tweet from Tweet Grid
On the left will be all the comments made with the #tag. In the middle will be the hosts comments. On the right is your Twitter stream.

To make a general comment to everyone (including your entire Twitter stream), type in your text in the box above the grid where it says, “tweet.” Notice it automatically fills in the hash tag for you. (MAJOR BENEFIT) Fill in your twitter user name and password and click “Tweet.” That’s it!

How to reply on Tweet Grid

To reply or direct message on Tweetgrid, simply hover your mouse under the tweet and some graphics will appear. Put your mouse over each graphic and it will tell you whether it is a reply, direct message, or retweet. Click on the one you want to do. Again, this is so easy a blonde can do it!

Have fun at your Twitter party.
